Waterview Pointe's Second Annual Trunk-or-Treat
October 15, 2024
Waterview Point launched the spooky season with its second annual Trunk or Treat event, which proved to be an outstanding success. Exceeding expectations, the event saw a significant increase in community engagement, with almost 100 more participants than the previous year.
While staff and volunteers were delighted with the creative trunks and costumes, the residents were even more enthusiastic. A resident remarked,
“This event really lifted my spirit, I needed this” as a number of residents lined the sidewalk to hand out candy, many dressed in costume themselves! The best trunk was awarded to Waterview Pointe staff member, Teri Hill, and her Wizard of Oz themed trunk and costumes.
The occasion was filled with smiles, laughter, and good music. Attendees savored hotdogs, popcorn, cotton candy, and plenty of candy.
Children enjoyed the bounce house, provided by Thomas Family Entertainment, and interacted with animals from Gab and the Goats. First responders from the Ohio Highway Patrol, Reno Volunteer Fire Department, and Marietta Fire Department handed out candy and allowed kids to explore their vehicles. There were also a number of games, pumpkin painting, and face painting!
We would not be able make this event possible without our sponsors and participants. They include Amedisys Hospice, O’Neill Senior Center, S.M. Miller Home Services, Elison Assisted Living, Humane Society of the Ohio Valley, and the many friends, families, and staff members at Waterview Pointe. We appreciate the efforts of all participants and volunteers and look forward to next year’s event!
