Christmas at Waterview Pointe

Waterview Pointe kicked off the Christmas season with the Merry-Etta Christmas Parade! It was a cold night, but with over 3000 people in attendance, it made the walk worth it!

Right after Thanksgiving, the Christmas decorations were in full swing. This year we were able to have special guests to bring some decorative fun. Marietta College came for a visit to make some festive wreaths. The activity department worked with residents to make ornaments that could be hung in their rooms or at the decorated nurse’s stations. The outside was filled with Christmas lights and blowup decorations. Residents were able to follow a path to look at the light up decorations and conclude the walk with hot chocolate.



Throughout this month we have also been blessed to hear from Marietta High School and a local church, who both walked the halls and caroled to residents. Let's not forget that it wouldn't be Christmas without some baking! Our Dietary Manager made and decorated sugar cookies with our residents and also made peanut butter and chocolate chip cookies for our Memory Care Unit.

We closed out the month by welcoming a very special visitor, Santa and Mrs. Clause! They stopped by to visit before preparing for the big day. Each resident was given a gift and enjoyed some delicious treats. You could see the magic in the eyes of the residents and in the smiles of Santa.

For many, this time of year is filled with memories of family gatherings, festive traditions, and acts of kindness, and we aim to recreate that magic within our walls. By decorating our home, hosting special events, and sharing holiday meals, we create an atmosphere of warmth and togetherness that lifts spirits and strengthens our community bond. These celebrations are not just about the lights and gifts but about honoring the lives and stories of our residents, making them feel valued and loved during this special season.
