Uniting for Seniors: Taking Care of Our Community
February 23, 2024
Across the Mid-Ohio Valley, a group of individuals from various companies come together to form the Senior Advocacy Group, otherwise known as SAG. This group ranges from Home Health and Hospice agencies, Skilled Nursing Facilities, Assisted Living Facilities, Hospital departments, and more. No matter the agency, the common goal is always to provide advocacy and care to the seniors of our communities.
Waterview Pointe has been honored to be a part of such a caring organization. We're committed to taking care of our seniors inside and outside of our walls. Together with our fellow SAG members, we strive to ensure that every senior in our community receives the attention, support, and care they deserve.
SAG holds meetings once a month to work on developing service projects, discuss current plans within each agency, and determine any community needs. The most recent service project consisted of a group of members collecting winter weather apparel and hygiene items for the Life and Purpose Community Resource Center, located on Front Street in Marietta. It is a homeless drop-in center aimed to connect those in need with resources promoting stability, independence, and help to power through information while reducing the stigma surrounding accessing support. The fall service project consisted of buying groceries for families of hospice patients. Each agency supplied groceries and the hospice agencies delivered them to the families in need.
The SAG is such a caring team with the mindset to help others. It is such a rewarding feeling to be able to be a part of a wonderful group of people and the care they provide within each of their agencies and the community in which we all serve.
