Custom Fit Wheelchair for a Resident in Need
January 18, 2021
Steve Isaac came to Waterview Pointe from Stride Mobility to fit Waterview's Donna M. for a custom wheelchair. This custom chair will help Donna be more comfortable with her contractures when she is up out of bed and her mobility within the facility.
Steve starts this process by placing Donna in the custom seating mold system. They release it to soften the mold and pull it around her to fit her contours perfectly.
Once they have a good mold, we get her out of the chair, and they outline the seat. The markings are to identify places on the mold that require special addressing to her body needs. The bottom is to build up an abductor pummel.

They then get the fitted blue chair mold, which is converted to a 3D image on his program to be printed and molded to her final seat. This process is done with such fine attention and detail to make the best fit perfect for the patient.
Waterview wants our residents to feel their best and most comfortable at all times. We are so pleased to be working with Steve to give Donna the best wheelchair with fittings specifically for her needs to improve functional mobility and quality of life at Waterview!
