Saluting Our Veterans
November 14, 2023
Veterans Day, observed annually on November 11, is a significant Federal holiday dedicated to honoring and celebrating the men and women who have served or are currently serving in the U.S. Military. Originating as Armistice Day after World War I, it was later renamed Veterans Day in 1954 to pay tribute to those who served in conflicts following the Great War.
Beyond being just a day off from work or school, Veterans Day holds profound meaning. It's a time to honor, celebrate, and reflect on the sacrifices made by countless individuals for the sake of our freedom. At Waterview Pointe, we proudly recognize nine Veterans from the Navy, Air Force, and Army. When asked for advice to the current generation contemplating military service, one resident fondly reflected on his time in the Philippines during 1944, stating,
"It was good, I would do it again."
To all Veterans, irrespective of the branch of the U.S. Military, we extend a heartfelt thank you for your service and unwavering dedication to our country. From all of us at Waterview Pointe, your sacrifices are deeply appreciated.
